Leo Pusateri over at Blogs for Bush makes the suggestion - as a means of allowing Reid to personally surrender to the enemy...only fair; why make President Bush preside over defeat when the only people who want us to lose, aside from the terrorists, are the Democrats?

What is really sad about it is that Reid has become a mere lapdog of the far left - no longer representing Nevada values at all; his entire political being has been conscripted for Nancy Pelosi's ideology. Too bad when we re-elected him in 2004 he didn't tell us he was a ultra-liberal Democrat...would have been nice to know that vital bit of information when he was running his "Pinky" ads of no substance or, indeed, relevance.

This is nothing new, of course - as a matter of fact, the Democratic House and Senate majorities are based entirely upon "Red State" Democrats who talk conservative back home and vote left in DC...without these "stealth liberals", the Democrats probably wouldn't have even 40 seats in the Senate. What we GOPers need to do is hammer home to "Red State" voters that their oh, so wonderful "moderate" Democrat is actually a liberal wolf in center-right clothing. We'll have several chances to do this in 2008, and we should do so - as great practice for using it to end Reid's career in 2010 (which won't be bad for him - he can get a job at one of the lobbying firms his children work for).
