Caucus of Corruption: The Truth about the New Democratic Majority ORDER NOW!!! On Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or The Conservative Book Club

It was a commenter here at Battle Born a few days ago who first asked if there was any move afoot to recall Senator Reid - at the time, I said there wasn't, and that I didn't see any chance of it happening. But this evening, as I drove home from work, a radio talk show host (Casey Hendrickson over at AM 840) had the subject as a topic of discussion, and it seems there are a lot of people out there mad enough at Reid's defeatism to at least give recall a shot.
In my view, in Harry Reid we in Nevada have a Senator from San Francisco, not a Senator from Nevada. For reasons completely unknown by me (and probably unknown by Reid, too), Reid has decided to hitch his star to the far left. Nevadan's aren't like Harry Reid - we aren't defeatist; we aren't allied with the far left; we want victory in the war...and, in my view, even those out here who disagree with President Bush don't hate him to the point that they'd actually go out and make enemy propaganda about the war already being lost by the United States of America.
Nevada Revised Statute 306 covers recall elections in the State of Nevada, and my reading of it is that any elected official can be recalled provided that 25% of the actual voters in the previous election sign a petition demanding a recall election. This is a very high hurdle, and that is as it should be - but it is something that we should do if for no other reason than to at least let the world know that the people of Nevada and Harry Reid are parting company. Reid is free to move to San Francisco, Los Angeles or New York City to find his soul mates, but we want no more of him here in Nevada.
UPDATE: You'll learn much more about Harry Reid in my new book coming out in a couple weeks....
